Xelloss is the general-priest of Greater Beast Zelas-Metallium, one of the Mazoku lords underneath Ruby-Eye Shabranigdu. Most people tend not to trust the main subordinate of a major demon, and rightfully so -- on more than one occasion, Xelloss has (apparently) double-crossed those who may have considered him a friend. However, he doesn't really double-cross anyone; anyone who follows the trail of clues which Xelloss leaves behind actually sets themselves up for trouble. You see, Xelloss prefers lying in the shadows, for to simply tell you the answer isn't very fun at all, now, is it? Xelloss would rather give someone a gentle nudge here and there towards the direction which he wants them to go, and let them figure it out. Xelloss talks very little, except to make trouble. He might tell a story, but the parts he leaves out of the story are probably a lot more important than the ones he tells. He even has a habit of disappearing for seemingly no reason at all, coming and going as he pleases.
How He Came Into Slayers:
Starting from NEXT episode 2, Xelloss is one of the main characters. Xelloss makes the scene just as Lina gets done beating up a bunch of bandits. He says some stuff about how it payed off to follow her around all this time and then jumps down from the pole he was standing on (scaring the crap outa everyone). Lina askes, "Who are you?" To which he reply's, "Ah. You needn't worry about that! You can trust me! I'm nice! You see, I'm Xelloss! Mysterious Priest!" And so the fun begins.
What he's like:
Xelloss may seem like some kinda bad guy but his mysterious nature is what makes him so cool! ^_^ He acts all kawaii one minute, then he can turn around and be really powerful and kill a bunch of people. He's different from all the other characters because of his multiple personalities. Not to much is known about Xelloss. He doesn't exactly talk about himself and he answers most questions about himself (and anything else) with "sore wa, himitsu desu" or "That is a secret". The slayers group doesn't really like him all that much because he's always manipulating them. He would much rather lay low and give them hints than to just give them the answer. Giving the answer isn't very much fun, ne? Xelloss doesn't talk much unless it concerns his plans. He comes and goes as he pleases, appearing and disappearing in front the other slayers whenever he feels like it. He calls himself the trickster priest for a pretty simple reason. He's very tricky!
The Romeo of pain?(Filia> oh so your saying I'm pain now?):
Just in case you don't know, a sadomasochist is someone who enjoys pain and suffering. ^.~ Xelloss is a bit a a sadomasochist just as all Mazoku are. He may seem all cheerful and stuff but his true nature is evil. He enjoys pain and he likes to see what it can make people do. He may seem like a friend but if Zelas says, "Go kill Lina Inverse" then he would do it, no questions asked. Xelloss is very loyal and would do anything, no matter what, to please his master. But, Xelloss also doesn't seam to enjoy pain all the time. Right off hand one might think of Gaav (Xel: let's not bring this up!> Filia: No let's!) e.e Well as I was saying, Xelloss although a Mazoku doesn't allways enjoy his pain, e.g. One like a few of those times Xelloss has an encounter with a certain.... mace.... ^________________________^
Strong Points
Xelloss has MANY strong points. He's a VERY powerful Mazoku and he gets all of Zelas' power. The only other person as strong as Xelloss is Luna Inverse (and some of those other villains). Lina even admits he's the most powerful person in the group.
Note: This was right after they found out he was a Mazoku and Gaav beat the crap outta him. So Zel gets mad because Xelloss STILL won't tell them what he's up to. But Lina tells him to settle down because he is the most powerful one among them. To which Amelia chimes in, "Well that Gaav guy didn't seem to have any trouble beating him to a pulp!" And she goes on about how someone so weak shouldn't fight someone that strong.ANYWAY, If he gets hurt it's ok because he can regenerate pretty fast. He's resistant to magical attacks. Even those coming from other Mazoku.
